for the victims. listen to this tape. >> hello. good morning, king edward vii. >> hello, there. can i please speak to kate, my granddaughter. >> are they putting us through? >> yes. >> i mean, absolutely unbelievable. so, kate middleton, or the duchess of cambridge, as she is now, is in hospital with this morning sickness, having revealed she's progress. and some dumb aussie deejay rings up with a twang accent. and they think it's the queen of england. i feel personally affronted. alan dershowitz, have you ever heard anything so ludicrous? >> it's the worst imitation i've ever heard. >> ever. there's a corgi in the background. >> i thought it was you. >> deejays are allowed to be ridiculous and funny. of all of the problems in the world this, is not the most serious one. >> carol, quickly. >> they're the ones that were dumb. they put the call through. >> i don't blame the nurse. i don't blame the nurse talking to them. she had been put through by the receptionist, with the immortal words, the queen's on the phone. what are you supposed to say? >> i think it's innocent. it gave us a laugh today. >>
their responsibility. i met people that want to carry that torch of edward r. murrow. critics would say you have to live in the real world here a little bit in the sense that if you go too highfalutin with your news coverage, if you try to do it in the purest sense, what your character does in this show, he does it great. especially if it's not big breaking news. for a hard unpalatable fact that it's true. >> i know that's true. >> it's hard. how do you tackle that? now you've had your toes dipped in our waters for a while. if you were running a news network, what would you say? >> let me back up and say, i don't have to live in the real world, i'm a fiction writer. i get to write a democratic administration that can get things done. and i get to write about a very idealistic newsroom where these guys reach unrealistically high so they fall down a lot, but we're still rooting for them anyway. but there's no question that the antagonist in this show is -- doesn't come so much in the form of a person, although that's the role jane fonda plays and that's the role that chris messina plays. it's rati
. there is some concern, though, about her condition, because she's been hospitalized at the king edward vii hospital in central london with what has been described as acute morning sickness. people i have spoken to who know about this say it's much worse than that. >> well, it is serious and the word you use, it's very debilitating. she's going to be confined to her hospital bed possibly for several days. prince william was there this afternoon. he left early this evening and i suspect he will be back there first thing tomorrow morning. he's obviously very concerned, as are both the royal family and of course, the middleton family as well. this is going to be a first grandchild for them. so yes, there is concern. of course this is very, very happy momentous news but what they are saying is she is going to need plenty of rest. we know that all of her public engagements have been suspended until further notice. i suspect we probably won't see the duchess carrying out any official engagements until possibly after christmas. >> right. and the other part of all this is fascinating, is the succes
was living in hospital accommodations just down the road from the edward vii hospital. she is the mother of two. we don't have an age for her, we don't know how old her children are. the family have asked that their privacy at this time is respected and all quearies are being referred to the police. we are all deeply shocked. it's a terrible story and a terrible twist that will leave william and catherine absolutely devastated. >> i think everyone involved will be devastated. the two deejays have suspended themselves by the sound of it in australia. they must be feeling i would imagine horrendous about what happened. it was a stupid thing to do but a lot of people found it sort of a typical deejay stunt, if you like. suddenly it's become a matter of life or death and this woman has died. we don't actually know for sure, i guess at this stage, whether her death is 100% linked to what happened, do we? >> reporter: no, because we don't know the background, we don't know -- there might have been a series of events that culminated in her suicide but were not solely linked to this. we just don
